Pastor Randy Bennett
Randy is the Pastor of Paxtonville United Methodist Church in Paxtonville, PA (2007). Randy received his Master of Divinity degree from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA (2009). He is a candidate for ordination in the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, and is a Licensed Local Pastor. Randy previously served as Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Freedom, PA (2005-2007).
Randy is a native of Johnson City, Tennessee, and a 1994 graduate of Science Hill High School. Randy is a formally trained musician, having earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance, as well as a Master of Music Education degree in Choral Conducting from East Tennessee State University (2000, 2002). Additionally, Randy studied music at the prestigious College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati on a full-tuition scholarship.
Prior to entering pastoral ministry, Randy served in full-time music ministry at Zion United Methodist Church in York, PA (2002-2005). Randy’s accomplishments are many, and include: Regional finalist for the National Association of Teacher’s of Singing Competition, Professional Division; 1st Chair Trumpet, Tennessee All-State Band (1994); soloist with the Johnson City Symphony, Johnson City Civic Chorale, The ETSU Men’s Ensemble, Choral, and Opera Workshop, the Lake Junaluska Singers, the Munsey Memorial UMC Chancel Choir, and the York Oratorio Society. Additionally, Randy earned the Eagle Scout Award in 1990, and received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 1996 as a Bandsman.
Randy was married to Aime Martin Bennett (formerly of Dublin, VA) on June 17, 2000. Together the couple is raising their daughters Madisyn (2004) and Haley (2005).
